Q: What do I need to do to join the San Beda Basketball League or just to watch the game/s?
A: ALL Bedan players and Guests need to register. REGISTER to join the league or watch the games.
Q: Who are eligible to participate?
A: Anyone who went to San Beda Mendiola or Alabang for a minimum of two years.
Q: When and where is this event going to be held?
A: This is a one or two day event depending on the number of players and teams participating. However; it will be held on one weekend. Tentative date is July 14-15, 2007 to be held in Anaheim, California.
Q: How often do you guys practice?
A: Most of the teams do not practice and pretty much meet on game day. Some of our participating players are coming from Chicago, Minnesota, Las Vegas, Reno, San Francisco and San Diego area which makes it difficult to coordinate basketball practices. However; there are lots of chances you can meet your team in several Bedan events including pick-up games (TBA) prior to game day .
Q: What if I don't know anyone?
A: You are not alone. A lot of our participating players are registering by themselves. Most of the time, you would meet someone that you might know that went to San Beda at one point.
Q: How much it will cost to join?
A: We require every player to submit a $25 non-refundable entry fee. This is a non-profit event in which none of the money goes to the organizers. Fees we collect are for all the expenses we incur in reserving the gym, referee fees, time/electronic scoreboard keepers, manual scorekeepers, and insurance. Payment is due on April 15, 2007 to be eligible to participate.
Q: Where do I send my payment to?
A: We are in the process of incorporating this league but in the meantime, payments are to be sent and made payable to: San Beda Basketball League
Q: Who are the current organizers of this San Beda Basketball League?
A: SBBLC was started by Teddy Relatos, Francis Cabal, Arthur DelaRosa, James Henson and Titoy Castro. Current organizers are Teddy Relatos, Arthur DelaRosa and Francis Sales. All current Board Members of the San Beda College Alumni Association of Southern California.
Q: How about uniforms?
A: We require everyone to have at least a red and white jersey with a number on the back. In the past, some teams and players have ordered a reversible red and white jersey top from one local print shop to get a discounted group rate. We can do the same for this year if you are interested by contacting us prior to February 31, 2007. The cost of a red and white reversible jersey with a number is $20. That is the actual cost that the local printer charges.
Q: Which team will I be playing for?
A: The teams are listed in the
SBBLC 2007 Roster. Choose which team you want to join and we will try to accomodate you in that team based on the Team's Captain decision.
Q: I have a friend who wants to join also?
A: As long as they meet the requirement of 2 year attendance to San Beda and we still have a spot available in the teams already established, we would welcome them.
Q: What if basketball is not my sport but would like to just watch?
A: We actually would love you to join than watch. Not all of us are good in basketball - we play to have fun and be part of the Bedan camaraderie. However; if you really just want to watch, you would be welcome to watch and cheer on at no charge.
Q: Can my company sponsor something for this league?
A: Yes. You are welcome to sponsor either the jerseys for a certain team (average of 12 players per team) and have your company name on the jersey if you desire or sponsor 2007 trophies for either First, Second or Third place winners.
