WELCOME TO THE SAN BEDA COLLEGE RED LIONS OF CALIFORNIA

San Beda College Red Lions of California (SBRLC) was formed in 2004 to create a Bedan camaraderie amongst Bedans residing in California thru sports. 

Requirement to participate in our events is a minimum of two years attendance to San Beda (Mendiola, Alabang or Taytay) unless specified.

This is a Bedan camaraderie event so no sports experience required.

Admin's Note:

In a downturn economy, where individuals and corporations are tightening their belts, it has proven to be extremely challenging to make our events financially feasible for 2009.  As a non-profit group, we feel the most responsible thing for us to do is to cancel our events temporarily for this year; however, due to Typhoon Ketsana, known locally as Ondoy, submerged most of Manila and neighbouring areas, claiming nearly 250 lives last September 26, 2009. Thousands of families lost everything in one day. Thousands of families and children left hungry and homelss even to this day.  Our fellow filipinos need our help. Please donate anything you can like bottled water, canned foods, rice, toiletries, clothing, instant noodles, blankets, shirts. 

San Beda Mendiola and Alabang became a relief center.  Hundreds of students came together to donate and pack items.  Let us do our share to help.  Please contact me on how we can pull our resources together as Bedans and as filipinos.

San Beda Basketball League

Our very first event was the San Beda Basketball League of California(SBBLC) with over 70 participating Bedans residing in California. The event was held in North Hollywood gym on October 15, 2005. Participating players included former Red Cubs and Red Lion players and PBA legend Macky DeJoya who played for Ginebra for 8 years. The rest were like most of us who just enjoy playing basketball and being around Bedans.

On July 15, 2006, the second SBBLC was held at the City of Walnut. This time, over 90 Bedans participated on this event which included Bedans like Jenkins Mesina, Arjun Cordero and Jacques Gottenbos.  This is the first year also where Bedans from Texas, Minnesota, Arizona and Nevada started to join our SBBLC event.  Present at the event were several former presidents of the San Beda Alumni Association of Southern California (SBCAASC) and current PBA players Mark Cardona and Ren Ren Ritualo from Purefoods.

The 3rd SBBLC was held in August 18, 2007 at Pasadena Community College with about 160 Bedans. Pictures can be seen at our Photo Gallery.

San Beda Shooting Club

Several Bedan gun afficianados got together to form the San Beda Shooting Club in 2005.   We ususally meet on a weekend at Azusa, CA.

•  This club is open for Bedans and friends. 
• This club is not just for Bedan gun owners but for those who are also interested to hang out with fellow Bedans or who might be interested in shooting or purchasing a gun someday.
• First timers are also welcome.
